Gleb Shulpyakov was born in 1971 in Moscow. He studied journalism at the Moscow State University and is currently Editor in Chief of the literary magazine Novaya Yunost. He had previously made a name for himself as a travel writer and poet. In 2001 he was awarded the Triumph Prize for his volume of poetry entitled The Flick. As a journalist Shulpyakov has done several interviews with Orhan Pamuk and is his interpreter in Russia. Gleb Shulpyakov lives in Moscow.
