Aleksandr Ryzhov was born in Olenogorsk, near Murmansk, in 1974. He worked as a radio and newspaper editor after completing his studies as a journalist at the University of St. Petersburg in 1997. His first book appeared in 1996, published by a Murmansk publishing house, and he became one of the youngest members of the Russian Writers’ Association shortly thereafter. His work has been published by the major Moscow book publishers, magazines and newspapers since 2002. He has had 17 books published to date. Aleksandr Ryzhov is married and continues to live in his hometown of Olenogorsk.
