Михаил Ходорковский/ Борис Стругацкий
Mikhail Khodorkovsky was born in 1963 in Moscow. He was a Russian former
Komsomol (Soviet youth) activist who became one of Russia's oligarchs and probably
the richest man in Russia. In 2003 he was arrested on charges of fraud. Shortly
thereafter the government under Vladimir Putin froze shares of Khodorkovsky‘s oil company Yukos because of tax charges. In 2005, Khodorkovsky was found guilty of fraud and sentenced to nine years in prison. The sentence was later reduced to 8 years. He was moved into a prison camp in Siberia.
Boris Strugatsky was born 1933 in Leningrad. Together with his brother Arkady who died in 1991, the duo became the best-known Russian science fiction writers. Several films (SOLARIS) by Andrey Tarkovsky and other directors were based on their novels. Correspondence
