The Mirror
This book is more than the mere adolescent reminiscences of a child prodigy. Far more it is a ‘mirror’ composed of poetic images, symbolism set to music and a large repertoire of literary notes allowing insights into the evolution and flowering of the human soul, into the hazards, the yearnings, the fears, the highs and the lows with which every adolescent is faced but which perhaps find expression only in the sensitive and strong-minded character of as gifted an artist as Lera Auerbach. As with her music in which one literally hears her speak, this literary text is a musical score.
